I’m Feranmi (Dean)Coach of ARETE FC.
You came close to winning the tournament last season, does this drive the team to do better?
Being close to winning is a lot, you know?
We gave it our all and lost, which brought the team down and divided us at first. We lost a couple of games after that, but we picked ourselves back up. The drive is there now, the hunger is there… 😤 I won’t say it was because we came close last season, though.
Coming close has done more harm than good to us. But we’re in a good shape and form for this competition now.
You had a fairly good run in the pre-season, winning two and losing one, how do you rate your team’s chances of winning this tournament?
We have a very good chance of winning the tournament But we will take it match by match.We are in a good shape presently.The confidence level is very high.Togetherness of the team is there.
Now the most important thing is the first match.
We’ve observed some friction between your team and some other teams, like Evgenis and Ikanoi. Is there any substance to this? And does it add any pressure going in?
First, we have to understand this is the most intense competition we have every year – rivals up and down .
There’s friendly banter, and there’s friction… both are happening at the same time. But from our side, we try to control it and keep it to just friendly banter.
Pressure? What’s that? 😂
How do you feel about your team’s preparation?
100% Hunger Even during exam period the hunger is still there.And I have to feed my boys
Finally, do you have any words for your players and Arete supporters before the tournament starts?
For my players, I just want them to always remember how good we are, the level at which we play, and the standard of the team. And be good sportsmen at any point.
To all Arete supporters, come and watch every single match with full backing! I can assure you my boys won’t disappoint, and I can assure you it’ll be worth every minute you spend with the team. Thank you

I am Igbayilola Adam Olasunkanmi, Proteuo Giatroi sport coordinator.
What are your expectations going into this tournament?
We’re not putting too much pressure on ourselves.We’re hoping to take the trophy home
Last season and the pre-season was not the best for your team, do you think this season will be any better?
As we’re still looking forward to winning our first game in OSUMSA league, I believe we’re getting closer to winning all. 🙂↔️We’re getting better
You are kicking off the tournament against Arete, what do you think your chances are?
This is football, a game of chance, I still believe we can do this against them. It’s 50/50
If you had the chance to choose a team to face, which would it be?
Ariste Giatroi, we need to take our revenge on them 🤬 .
Finally, do you have any words for your players and Proteuo supporters before the tournament starts?
Winning is based on believe 99% faith, 1% chance
